Green Table to Be Featured at Farmers Market
A collaboration between the Village of Glenview and the Glenview Park District and a few interested citizens has resulted in the creation of a “Green Table”, a new environmental community resource at the Glenview Farmers’ Market which runs every Saturday from June 27 through October 10 at Wagner Farm. The goal of the Green Table is to build community, promote conversation, and provide education about sustainable living. Situated at the Farmers’ Market entrance, the table will host a different topic and expert each week. The experts will be in attendance from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. each Saturday. Access to them is free and no sales promotions or business transactions are permitted.

Glenview Park District Tennis Club Receives 2009 USTA Outstanding Facility Award
GLENVIEW, IL, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 – The Glenview Park District Tennis Club has been selected to receive the 2009 United States Tennis Association (USTA) Outstanding Facility Award for excellence in its programming, customer service and facility amenities. The Glenview Tennis Club is one of just three facilities in its class nationwide to be so recognized. Glenview Tennis Club Manager Dave Woolf and Glenview Park District Supt. of Special Facilities Cheryl Deom will accept the award on behalf of the Glenview Tennis Club on September 6 at the USTA Semi-Annual Meeting and Conference in New York. The Glenview Tennis Club is a facility of the Glenview Park District.
The USTA recognizes facilities in order to encourage higher standards for the construction and renovation of public tennis facilities throughout the country. The award is based on certain criteria such as the overall layout, the excellence of court surface and lights, accommodations, aesthetics, amenities, and support of programs used to promote the game.
“We are proud of the Glenview Tennis Club and their staff for receiving this prestigious award,” said Chuck Balling, executive director of the Glenview Park District. “Tennis Club Manager Dave Woolf and his staff have built a first class club with a broad base of programming to better serve our residents and to promote the game of tennis throughout the North Shore.”
